Ira G. Vanhorn 81 of Louisa, KY went to be with the Lord on Wednesday September 14, 2016. Ira was born July 15, 1935 at Cadmus, KY, the son of the late Fred and Noldia Cooksey Vanhorn. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Betty Vanhorn who died in 2008, a granddaughter Stacy Michelle Chaffin, a grandson Ben Burchett, and a great grandson infant Giren Salyers. Ira was retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation. Survivors include six daughters Sandra (Ben) Burchett of Webbville, KY; Vicki (Gary) Webb of Louisa, Marsha Chaffin of Louisa, Linda (Mike) Barnwell of Catlettsburg, KY, Teresa (Lonnie) Senters of Louisa, and Kim Salyers of Louisa, a son Edward "Pete" Vanhorn and wife Darlene also of Louisa; two sisters Bessie Diamond of Dayton, Ohio and Ella Crisp of Louisa; 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday Sept. 18th at 2:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Gordon Crisp, Rev. Noah Wilks, and Bro. Ronnie Workman officiating. Burial will follow in the Vanhorn Cemetery on Highway 1 Louisa, KY. Friends may visit the family on Saturday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home. Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
