Norman Kay Hughes, age 84, of Louisa, went to be with his Lord on Friday, November 17, 2017 at his home in Louisa. Mr. Hughes was born August 24, 1933 in Busseyville, KY. He is the son of the late Monroe P. and the late Katherine (Carter) Hughes. Norman was a watchmaker, a member of the Louisa Free Will Baptist Church and a Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War. Survivors include Norman's loving wife: Mabel Hughes and one daughter: Debra Kay Hughes of Louisa, KY; Norman also leaves behind five sisters and two brothers; Virginia Nell Bussey of Ashland , KY, Sue Sloas of Louisa, KY, Ann Salyer of Louisa, KY, Ellen Greer of Ashland, KY and Jane Mahurin of Terre Haute, IN, Tim Hughes of Ashland, KY and Clark Hughes of Louisa. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Louisa Free Will Baptist Church, Louisa, KY with Rev. Vinny VanHoose and Bro. Edsel Perry officiating. Burial follow in the Lynch Cemetery, on Saltpetre Road in Fort Gay, West Virginia. Calling hours will be on Saturday, November 18 from 6:00 pm to 9:000 pm at the Louisa Free Will Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Gideons International.
