Obituary of James "Jim" Slone

James E. "Jim" Slone, 64, of Hager Hill, formerly of Webbville, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, December 12, at his home after an extended illness. Jim previously served as Fire Chief of Webbville Volunteer Fire Department and formerly worked in the coal mines. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Eugene Slone; a brother, Ronnie Slone; and a sister, Patsy Mollette. His survivors include his mom and stepdad, Kathryn (George) Marshall; two daughters, Sheila (Jeremy) Marcum of Webbville; Betty (Terry) Hinkle of Westwood; and one son, James Brandon (Tish) Slone of Hager Hill; three grandsons, Dustin Marcum and Austin Marcum (Autumn Justus) and Gavin Fairchild; Madison and Laiken Moore and Marena Fairchild, two sisters, Sue Hopson and Kathie (Don) McClelland, and five brothers, Frank (Mary) Slone, Danny Slone, Billy Joe (Pepper) Slone, Rocky (Faye) Slone, and Kevin (Andrea) Slone; and a host of beloved family and friends. Memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice of Ashland, KY. Funeral services will be held on Thursday Dec. 14th at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Eulas Adams and Bro. Buell Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Webbville Cemetery Webbville, KY. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from noon until time of services at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
