Lorenza Wesley Childress, age 68, of Louisa, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Kings Daughters Medical Center of Ashland, KY. Lorenza was born Saturday, December 11, 1943 in Sumter County Alabama. He is the son of the late Wilson and the late Nancy (Dotson) Childress. He was a graduate of Jenkins High School, former member of the U.S. Army, a member of David Temple of the Prince Hall Free & Accepted Masons; and a proud retired Coal Miner. He is lovingly survived by his girlfriend of 17 years, Bobbi Jo Jude, son Robert Cedric Jude, daughter Loren Sierra Marie Jude, all of Louisa who all held his hand until the end. His son and daughter- in-law Dr. and Mrs. Milton A. Walters, Sr. of Maryland, daughter Denise Kimbrough of Ohio, brothers and sisters in law James and Lee Childs, of Alabama, Wilson and Debra Childress Jr., of Alabama, Danny Childress of Kentucky, Leslie Riggins of Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-law Bessie and John Childs of Illinois and Faye and Sam Snelson of Alabama. Five grandchildren, Nidria A. Brown of Kanas, Milton A. Walters, Jr. of North Carolina, Chevantle, Kimbrough, Chelesa Kimbrough, and Chaniah Kimbrough all of Ohio; Four great grandchildren, a host of nieces, and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, August 4 at Wilson Funeral Home 1270 Hwy 2565, Louisa, KY with Brother Dewey Jude officiating. Interment will be held at the Muncy Cemetery in Pilgrim, KY. Calling and viewing hours will be Thursday, August 2 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Friday August 3rd from noon to 9:00 pm at Wilson's Funeral Home 1270 Hwy 2565, Louisa, KY. The family wishes to thank all of Lorenza's friends and love ones for their prayers and support during this time. We take this time to remind everyone, that Lorenza cannot come back to us, but we can go to him by accepting Jesus Christ as Savior according to Romans 10:9-10 "If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
