Obituary of James Russell Crawford

James (Rusty) Crawford passed away at the age of 76 on February 11, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents Russell and Lula Mae Crawford and brother Rick Crawford. He is survived by his sons Scott Crawford, Richard Crawford, Timothy (Chelsey) Crawford and Jacob (Holli) Crawford. Daughters Angela Cole, Stephanie Rivera, Danille (Nick) McCoy, Joe and many grandchildren: Travis, Vance, Heath, Amaya, Hudson, Wyatt, Jude, Nathaniel, Wesson, Garrett, Braxton, Arianna, Kayden, Mason, and Kinley. Siblings John, Earl, Judy McCown, Jeanie Branham and Charlotte Bridges.

Rusty was born November 22, 1948 in Covington, Kentucky. From there he moved to Michigan where he worked at Detroit Stokers for 23 years. During this time, he met his friend, Mark. Rusty enjoyed many hobbies such as squirrel hunting, fishing, tinkering on his old Plymouth Cranbrook and finding a good bargain at any flea market or garage sale he came across. Rusty was a man of his word. He took pride in a job well done and was always ready to lend a helping hand or some good advice to who needed it. To know him was to truly love him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday February 28th at the Wilson Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
