Obituary of Dennis Lee Fannin
Dennis Lee Fannin left this world of suffering and pain on March 29, 2025 for his eternal home of love, beauty, peace, light, and nothing but goodness.
He was born September 13, 1976 at Prestonsburg, KY to Harold Dennis Fannin and Clydetta (Davis) Fannin Burchette. He was preceded in death by his father, his step-father Jim Burchett, his grandparents Nell Davis Fannin, Abram (Clyde) Davis, Arnold Lee Fannin, and Menzie (Barton) Fannin. He is survived by his Mom, his only sibling Chasity D. Fannin, a step-brother James Douglas (Nicole) Burchett, a step-sister Kristie (Mason) Fissler, niece Madalyn Branham, nephew Madyx Grim. Most importantly his only son Austin Dennis Lee Fannin and his beautiful daughter-in-law Josie (Baker) Fannin, his precious 10 month old grandson Adreus Charles Fannin. Also surviving is his Ex-Wife and his now friend Janie (Fletcher) Carter, and a host of family and friends.
Dennis and his son Austin held a bond that was never broken by distance nor death. A love deeper than any ocean, bluer than any sky, and taller than any mountain. It was almost a daily ritual for a talk on the phone as his son made his drive home from work. He would have been the same if given the time with his grandson as he desired. Sadly, distance and death stole from both.
Dennis was a different Son, Father, and Human in general because Schizophrenia and Depression robbed him of a normal life. However, he still fought to be a wonderful, kind, humble, gentle human to others. He was soft spoken and had the biggest heart, especially for his son and his mom. He taught his son all that a human should be, rarely complaining of sickness nor pain. He endured much more these past months than most could stand, and yet he stood strong and pressed forward. Looking forward to feeling better after surgery would be over. Time was of importance but wasn't a friend. During these last months he would say "Mom be nice" as she went to battle for him. It never worked no matter how hard she fought for him.
His wishes were a little unusual for the upcoming death that took him sooner than his loved ones or himself could comprehend. He will be cremated with no visitation, no burial of ashes. But there isn't any doubt that his soul is in Heaven and his remains will soon be resting in Oklahoma with his son and family.
All care has been trusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
