James Ray Adams II Obituary

James (Bud) Ray Adams II 35, of Louisa Ky went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2025 at Ohio State University surrounded by family.

Born July 10, 1990 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Son of Melody (Moore) Hardin and James Ray Adams. James was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Andrew Jackson Moore, paternal grandmother Emma Lou (Miller) Adams, paternal grandfather Bill Ray Adams.

James was a proud Correctional Counselor for the Federal Bureau Of Prisons, USP Big Sandy. There he made many friendships ones that he held dearly. Special friends there that followed him from high school Jordan Miller and Katie Blankenship.

James (Bud) as we all knew and called him was humble, patient, kind, loving, strong, loyal, faithful, and genuine young man. He professed his love for family, especially his mother. Enjoyed the outdoors in particular grilling, football he never missed a super bowl regardless if it was his team or not he was always celebrating, basketball, but mostly weekends sitting around a fire with the ones he loved. Although he had no children Zane his rescue dog was his “Baby”. Bud had many joys throughout his short time here but his pride and joys was his nieces Courtney Austyn Smith, Skyler Rahe Horn, and nephew Hayden Ray Horn. He was a protector his sisters Sarah and Brittany can contest to that. Bud leaves us with many cherished memories and a legacy of great integrity, values, traditions, and a mark that will forever be imprinted in our hearts.

Survivors include his loving mother and step father Melody (Joseph) Hardin, father James Adams, a special second Dad James Wells.  Sisters Sarah Horn (Eddie Ratliff), Brittany (Andrew) Goble. Cousin more like a Brother Nathan Moore. Nieces Courtney Smith, Skyler Horn, Rozalyn Goble. Nephews Hayden Horn, Rush Goble, Raef Goble. Grandmother Bonnie Moore. Aunts Jacqueline Moore, Jessica (Darryl) Vance, Brandi (Brandon) Emory. Uncles Timothy Moore, Dennis Moore, Dallas Moore, a host of Cousins, and a very close “little buddy” Kenny Thomas
