Aileen Compton Obituary

Aileen Daniels Compton, 90, passed away peacefully at Community Hospice in Ashland after a brief illness on Nov. 18, 2025. Her family was blessed to be by her side.


Aileen was the daughter of the late Flem and Elizabeth Daniels. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ned S. Compton and her brother, Flem C. Daniels Jr. She is survived by her three children, Nedra Fennell (Jim) of Russell, KY, Tyson Compton of Ashland, and Tawn Compton of Nicholasville, KY; three adoring grandsons Joshua Ned Compton (Rachel) of Louisa, Jansen Fennell (Megan) of Russell, and Sayre Compton of Lexington; and four great-granddaughters who were the light of her eye, Anna Aileen and Nara Compton, and Raegan & Addison Fennell; four sisters-in-law whom she called Sister, Corlis Barnette of Louisa, Maris Lucas of Cincinnati, Joy McComas of Liberty Township, Ohio, and Jan Hayes of Amelia, Ohio; nieces and nephews; and dear friends Linda Hammond, Susie Matney, Maggie McGraw, and Judy Tackett of Louisa.


Aileen had a long career in the medical field starting in the business office of the General Hospital and retiring from the personnel office at Three Rivers Medical Center. She was an avid bowler and thoroughly enjoyed traveling, proudly declaring she had visited 48 of the 50 states. She was a lifelong fan of reading and kept up to date with friends and family through Facebook. She was also a devout fan of the Cincinnati Reds and enjoyed watching UK basketball games on tv. She loved her grandgirls dearly and always made sure to keep up with their sports and other activities.


She was a member of Hilltop Methodist Church and loved her church family. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and served for many years on the Planning Committee of SeptemberFest.


Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, Nov. 21st at Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa with Rev. Dan Smith and Rev. Bobby Stinnett officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday. Burial will be in Compton Cemetery. A reception at Hilltop Methodist Church will follow burial.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hilltop Methodist Church, 816 Pine Hill Road, Louisa, KY 41230.
