George William VanHoose, 92 of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 22, 2025.

George was born Nov. 5, 1933, at George's Creek, the son of the late Roy and Elizabeth Thompson VanHoose. In additon to his parents, he is preceded in death by is first wife Roberta Hayes VanHoose and his second wife Patricia Borders VanHoose. His son Roger William VanHoose, granddaughters Elisabeth Marie Carter, and Rebekah Lynn Carter, brother Raymond VanHoose and sister Pearlene VanHoose Bartlett.

George was a member of the Meades Branch Freewill Baptist Church for 44 years. He was an ordained Deacon and trustee for 41 years and the Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a former machinist, and a retired water well driller.

Survivors include his daughter Debra (Dock) Carter; son Doug (Bulldog) VanHoose; stepdaughters Sandy Castle, Melissa (Aaron) Davis, Kristy (Jason) Fugitt; stepson Gregory (Christy) Vanhoose; grandchildren Roger Jr (Samantha) VanHoose, Dock (Laura) Carter II, Joseph (Heather) VanHoose, George Roy (Colleen) VanHoose, George Elbert (Ingrid) Carter, Christopher (Jessie) VanHoose, Jessica (Ryan) VanHoose; step grandchildren Tyler Castle, Laiken (Zack) Berry, Kelly Davis, Kyle Davis, Abby Vanhoose, Lexie Vanhoose, Tyler Eady, Drew Eady, Pheobe Fugitt, Michael Fugitt; great grandchildren Avery,Tannner, Samuel, Mattie, Brooke, Hannah, Matthew, Cole, Teagan, Tristan, Annaleigh, Camron, Andrew; step great grandchildren Gunner, Gavin, and Kyla.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 26, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Meades Branch Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Bevins and Rev. Michael Marcum officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery Louisa, Kentucky. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday November 25th for 4:00 pm until time of services on Wednesday at the church.
