Jessie Mahon Obituary

Jessie Mahon,85, passed through the Heavenly Gates on December 10, 2025 peacefully at his home.

He was born on November 22, 1940 to the late Jess and Stella Mahon in Delbarton, WV.

Jessie is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Joyce Mahon; his children Shaunna (Steve) Stroud of Fort Gay, WV, Keith (Stephanie) Mills of Louisa, KY, Theresa (James) Hannah of Huntington, WV and a bonus son, Pearly "Cotton" Thompson of Fort Gay, WV,

15 Grandchildren, Taylor (Briyce) Evan, Dylan, Takoda, Tyler (Madison), Kayla (Elliott), Abby, Sarah, Jessic (Andrew), Heather, Brittany, Megan (Dustin), Jacob (Kelsey), Josiah (Lily), and Gabrielle;

15 great grandchildren and another little boy will be making his arrival in early 2026.

His siblings Rob, Patty Sue, Anna Lou, Esta, and Jean; a special sister-in-law Jo, a host of nieces and nephews, as well as many beloved family and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife of 27 years Geneva "Jenny" Mahon and siblings Goldie, Woodrow, Chester, Dixie, Vesta "Bay", Bessie (his twin) and Sylvia.

He was a member of Isaac Park Church, he loved his church and his church family. He loved the Lord and every time he was in the church doors his prayer request was always the same for God to save the lost ones that he loved the most. He began his walk with God in June 1986 and never looked back.

He was a coal miner at Wolf Creek Colleries until he retired in 1994. However, retirement did not slow him down, it just gave him more time to do the things he loved. He was a jack of all trades, a mechanic, a welder, an electrician, a carpenter, he could do it all. He enjoyed hunting deer and turkey and in ealier years he spent many days hunting squirrels and rabbits.

He was a man of little words, but the words he said spoke volumes, and he loved even bigger.

Funeral services will be held on Monday December 15th at 1:00 pm at the Isaac Park Church with Rev. Mack Ray Cyrus and Rev. Dave Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Isaac Park Cemetery Louisa, Kentucky.
