David Emory Newton Obituary
David Emory Newton was born on April 25, 1971, to Irvin and Judith Ann Newton. He passed away at his home in River , Kentucky, on January 22, 2026.
David was a proud West Virginia man who only left the state for the love of his life. He spent his life putting others first, dedicating his career to service as a volunteer firefighter, paramedic, and nurse. Helping people wasn’t just his job—it was who he was.
David loved to travel and never missed the chance for a road trip, happily crossing into a new state just to mark it off his list. Even in his final days, he remained true to himself, always doing whatever he could to make others laugh.
David leaves behind his loving wife, Sherry, and his five children: Quaid (Kaitlyn) Mosley, Allyson (Connor) Smith, Sydney (Chad) Hale, Cole (Janice) Mosley, and David (Haley) Newton. He was a proud grandfather to Rowyn, Cyrus, Emery, and Maeve, who brought him immense joy. He also leaves behind his cousin and life long friend, Jason Farley.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Judith Ann Newton, along with many other beloved family members.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday February 4th at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Cox and Pastor Nick O'Brian officiating. Burial will follow in the Crabtree-Thompson Cemetery on Joels Creek in Genoa, West Virginia.
