Cora Jean Cyrus 77 of Fort Gay, West Virginia passed away April 28, 2026 at the Three Rivers Medical Center following a brief illness.

Cora was born September 23, 1948 at Fort Gay, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Winnie and Ollie Elizabeth Thompson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Aley "Eddie" Cyrus and her children Darrell Edward Cyrus, Annette Bell, and Aley Edward Cyrus II, and Cathy Cyrus.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons Harold Lee and Brian Keith Cyrus; a daughter Connie (Kevin) Harvey; 18 Grandchildren; a host of Great Grandchildren; and two brothers Elzie and Ernie Thompson and a very special friend Polly Robertson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 5, 2026 at 11:00 am at the New Beginning Community Church with Rev. Noah Robertson and Rev. Kenny Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Cyrus Cemetery at Hickory Gap Fort Gay, West Virginia. Friends may visit the family on Monday May 4th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the New Beginning Community Church.
