Lee Roy Pack age 81 of Charley, Kentucky traded his Earthly body for a Glorified new body free from the pain and sorrow down here. Born August 28, 1944 to McAdoo and Louise Thompson Pack. In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by infant brother Russell Pack, brother Otto Pack, sister Virgie Gene Pack, and one sister is left to grieve Roberta Ruff, along with his loving wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandson, sister in law Hannah (Lowell) Guinn, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.


He was the youngest of five children. At the age of eleven he started working with his dad in the log woods. He married Fannie Mae Spurlock. He was 19 and she was 17. No one expected the marriage to last but on June 28, 2025 they were still together after 61 years, and were the parents of five children, James Lee Pack Sr., Rose Mary Roberts, Rebecca Anne Fraley, Marie (Ray) Fraley, and Thomas Jefferson (Shauna) Pack, twelve grandkids, James Edward Fannin Jr., Sunshine Nichole Gooden, James Lee Pack Jr., Heather Dawn (Bill) Stevens, Nakoma Ray (Justine) Fraley, Arminda Angeline Mayolla Cantrell, Shane Lee (Jill) Fraley, Russell Lee Roy Pack, Aaron Christopher (Lisa) Fraley, Jesse Aaron McHenry (Sarah) Pack, Dakota Chase (Josie) Fraley, Kynzlee Alyssa Pack, and twenty-one great grandchildren, Destiny Blevins, Jacob Blevins, Hailey Gooden, Jerome Stevens, Sierra Stevens, Carson Fraley, Abiah Gooden, Piper Cubiac, Dominic Stevens, Lilah Fannin, Jaylyn Boggs, Aaron Pack, Clark Boggs, Layla Fraley, Kyah Fraley, Kylie Fraley, Bella Boggs, Curtis Pack, Laura Boggs, Kahleo Fraley, Anely Domingo and one great-great grandson Ezekial McDowell-Stevens.


Lee Roy Pack was a name most of Lawrence County knew, either from the carpet mill, saw mills, or the 20 years he worked as "Grader Man" for Tebco and Kentucky May Coal Company. He was disabled in July of 1999 by a bulldozer accident, later diabetes cost him half of one foot and sores that would not heal. He always wanted to work, even doing mowing jobs in Lawrence and Martin County when he was able. After the partial amputation of his foot he rarely left his wheelchair. His final Battle began the 27th day of February 2026. He suffered a stroke and spent weeks in UK Medical Center then was brought to the Jordan Center for rehab. He got pneumonia after a few days and was taken to Three Rivers on March 31, 2026. After a few days he was sent back to The Jordan Center, where surrounded by his family on May 1, 2026 at shortly after three o'clock he passed from his Earthly home to his Heavenly home.


Lee Roy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather,great grandfather,great-great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Anyone who met him loved him. He is and will always be missed by his family and friends. Lee Roy was a Christian and a member of Charley Freewill Baptist Church, but because of his health was unable to attend services. 


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 6th at 2:00 pm at the Spencer Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Ross officiating. Burial will follow at his residence at Charley, Kentucky. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday May 5th from 6:00 pm until time of services on Wednesday at the Spencer Freewill Baptist Church.
