Martin Leslie Artrip Obituary
Martin Leslie (John) Artrip passed away on July 18th, 2026 in Monroe, NC. Martin was born in 1929 in Fort Gay, West Virginia to the late Martin B and Joyce Kirk Artrip. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Evelyn Dow Artrip as well as his sister Pauline Mayo and brother James Artrip.
Martin is survived by his two children, John E. Artrip (Lisa) of Pleasantville, Ohio and Dotty A. Perkins (Jim) of Concord, North Carolina. Four Grand Children, Nicholas, Dustin, Luke and Noah Artrip. Five Great Grandchildren, Kimani, Khloe, Koshie, Hagan and Riley along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
He retired from the Norfolk Southern Railway in Portsmouth, Ohio as a Locomotive Engineer as well as the General Chairman for the eastern division of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Martin served his country in the United Staes Marine Corp. during the Korean War and was a long-time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 25th at 11:00 AM at Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa, Kentucky with Funeral to follow at 1:00PM.
