Franklin Delano Castle, 80 years old of Ulysses, Kentucky passed from this life on Friday July 24, 2026 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. 

He was born on Friday May 24th 1946 to the son of the late Frank and Pina (Scarberry) Castle. Franklin graduated from Mayo Technical School in Paintsville with an emphasis in electronics. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 16 siblings and half siblings.

Franklin survived by his wife Dottie Castle and one stepdaughter, Catrina Vargo. He is also survived by two brothers, Joe Castle and Terry Castle, two sisters, Margeret Salyers and Betty Stambaugh and grandson Brett Borders and family.

Franklin was a truck driver, having worked for F.S. VanHoose Lumber in Paintsville, among other companies, but retired from Pepsi where he worked for well over 30 years. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and enjoyed getting together with friends and family. Franklin loved bluegrass music and in his earlier years enjoyed traveling and camping. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jul 28 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home 1270 Hwy 2565, Louisa, Kentucky. Visitation on the day of service begin Wednesday July 29th at 11:00am up until time of services at 1:00pm. Services will be officiated by Pastor Rick May and Pastor Brandon Williams.
