Obituary of Phyllis Colleen New

Phyllis C. “Peggie” New 68 of Prichard, WV passed away Friday Nov. 9, 2012 at Cabell Huntington Hospital following a brief illness.
Peggie was born July 5, 1944 at Zanesville, OH the daughter of the late John Willis and Kathryn Wells Shaw. She was a mother, homemaker and attended the Big Hurricane Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister Margie Strohacker.
Survivors include her husband H. P. “Corky” New, two daughters Michelle (Marc) Workman of Fort Gay, WV and Katie (Scott) Jenkins of Virginia; a son John (Linda) New of Florida; grandchildren Savannah, Mollie, and Lydia Workman, Kendall and Zack New, Dillon and Ethan Jenkins; sisters Patricia Withers and Jackie Fleming both of Ohio and Myrna Granger of North Carolina, and a brother John Shaw.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday November 12th at 1:00 pm at the Big Hurricane Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Perry officiating. Friends may visit with the family after 4:00 pm Sunday at the Wilson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Big Hurricane Baptist Church P.O. Box 188 Fort Gay, WV 25514.
