Obituary of Sylvia Kay Dotson

Sylvia Kay Dotson of Louisa, KY passed away December 18, 2020.  She was born on August 29, 1944 in Pike County, KY to the late Roberta and Burl Scott of Phelps, KY.  She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Sylvian Dotson and her brothers, George A. Scott, Robert (Bobby) Scott, and Ervin Scott.

She will be missed by her loving family, Daughter- Sherry (David) Spradlin of Hazard, KY, Sons- Steven (Tessia) Dotson of Louisa, KY, and Rodney (Ervina) Dotson of Crab Orchard, KY, Sisters, Charlene (Daryl) Baker of Wellington, KY, Pam (Rick) Kelley of Sprinfield, OH, and Tammy (Donnie) Layne of Winchester, KY, Special Daughters- #1, Lucia (Terry) Hamilton of Abingdon, VA and baby girl Stephanie Bentley of Betsy Layne, Grandchildren, Wesley Simon of Boston, MA, Preston (Misty) Spradlin of Morehead, KY, Aaron Dotson of Louisa, KY, Sherry (Zach) Short of Crab Orchard, KY, Kacie Dotson of Crab Orchard, KY, Matthew Dotson of Louisa, KY, Harlee Dawn Dotson of Louisa, KY, Great-Grandchildren, Bentley Scott, Aubrey Lynn Spradlin, and Abby Short, and a Special Nephew, Chace Layne of Winchester, KY.

She was a member of the Phelps Presbyterian Church, where she served in many positions including, Deacon Emeritus, Sunday and Bible School teacher, and Youth Director.  She was a retired clerk with the Pike County Clerk’s Office.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Phelps Presbyterian Church.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private ceremony will be held at Wilson Funeral Home with Revs. Michael Thompson and Opie Ray Harris officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  All care and final arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
