Obituary of Lonnie Howell

Lonnie Howell was born in Martin County, KY on November 27, 1958to the late Sue Ann (Fitch) and Simpson Howell. 

He was given his nickname “Hot Rod” by his daddy when he was a little boy and it carried with him his whole life; More people knew him as Hot Rod than his given name.

He worked at Martin County Coal and Sidney Coal, and was later a truck driver, but was defined most by his love of cars. His love of cars was second only to his love for his daughter, Autumn, he was not only her daddy, but her best friend, and will forever be known by him as Baby. His greatest joy and gift were sharing his passion and love of cars and racing with Autumn.  Later in life when you saw Hot Rod, Autumn was by his side, whether in the garage working on a car or at a swap meet.

He is survived by his loving wife, Hannah Howell, of over twenty-six years.  He dedicated his to making her happy and spoiling her.  Lonnie never forgot to always hold her hand and tell her he loved her every day.  He is survived by his daughter, Autumn, who was the center of his world from the time she was born.  He enjoyed every minute of being her daddy, from picking her up at school, to taking her on trading adventures, and teaching her how to drive. Lonnie was able to leave many memories and travelling adventures with his family that will be cherished forever.  He leaves behind not only his two special ladies, Hannah and Autumn, but a host of friends that were more like family.  He left a hole in many hearts when he went to be with our Lord on January 1, 2021. 

Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at 8pm at Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Burnette officiating.  Friends may visit the family from 6-8 on Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home.  All care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home
