Obituary of Bonnie Lee Gauze

Bonnie Lee Gauze, 85, of Inez, KY passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021. Gauze was born February 11, 1936 in Inez, KY to the late Mosie and Lucy Maynard Stepp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Robert Stepp, Freddie Stepp, Lacy Stepp, and Francis Fannin and one son-in-law, Jack Hill.

She is survived by four sons, Gary (Debbie) Howell, Barry Howell, Terry (Sheila) Howell, and Vadis (Teresa) Gauze; two daughters, Sherry (George) Brown and Debbie Hill; two stepchildren, Darlene Moore and Garry Gauze; and one sister, Millie Perkins. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Christy and Joe Sweeney, Brian Hill and Lisa Samples, George Larry Brown, Corey and Elizabeth Howell, George Gary and Bein Howell, Summer and Matt Brown, Jeremiah and Shelley Brown, Christopher Gauze, and Daisha and Joe Little, and six great-grandchildren, George Gary Howell, Jake Hill, Max Hill, Jonah Eli Brown, Miles Abel Brown, and Oliver Joseph Little.

She was a Homemaker who loved cooking and feeding people. She was a Christian for many years and a caregiver to those that couldn’t take care of themselves.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Big Elk Church on Blacklog with Bros. Maurice Mills, Lonnie Smith, and Brent Haney officiating. Burial will follow in the Gauze Cemetery in Warfield.  Friends may visit the family on Friday, March 19 after 6:00 PM at the Big Elk Church. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn and social distancing practiced.  All care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
