Obituary of Albert Earl Sturgell

Albert Sturgell 67 of Fort Gay, WV passed away Wednesday May 12, 2021 at The Hertiage Center following a long illness.

Albert was born July 20, 1953 at Logan, WV the son of the late Okey and Louise Salmon Sturgell. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Albert “Alby” Sturgell Jr.; a grandson; a great grandson; and siblings Joe Sturgill, and Okey Lee Sturgell Jr., Phoebe Copley, Ginny Helm, and Betty Smith. He was a disabled underground coal miner.

Survivors include two daughters Fannie Cantrell and Sabrina Sturgell; two step children Eva Haney and John L. Polk III; five brothers Sherman, Charles, Jennings, Harold, and Ivan; many nieces and nephews; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday May 15^th from 10:00 am until Noon. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery.
