Obituary of Thurman Porter Jr.

Thurman Porter Jr., 56, of Genoa, WV passed away Friday, July 23, 2021at his home following an extended illness. Thurman was born February 5, 1965 in Louisa, Kentucky to the late Thurman and Doris Porter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Melissa Porter, and a foster grandson, Dylan.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Porter; two sons, Joseph Alexander (Tiffany) Porter and David Andrew (Jillian) Porter; two brothers, Rick (Judy) Porter and Gary (Cheryl) Porter; one sister, Sue (Darwin) Davis; one step-daughter, Miranda Lee (Cody) Diamond, one foster son, Justin (Jenny) Allman; one grandson, Storm; three granddaughters, Mia, Ava, and Avanna; one step-granddaughter, Shay; one step-grandson, Evan ; and two foster grandsons, Ryan and Lucas.

He was a Custodian 3 for the Wayne County Board of Education for twenty-seven years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Workman Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, July 27 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at Wilson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation be made to Wilson Funeral Home. All care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
