Obituary of Murrel Virginia Castle

Murrel Virginia Castle, 93, of Lowmansville, KY passed away Friday, January 7, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Castle was born June 20, 1928 in Louisa, Kentucky to the late George and Nolda Charles Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Castle, Sr. ; three sisters, Shirley Edwards, Mae Patrick, and Martha Lyons; one brother, Bud Edwards; one grandson, Brian Thompson; and one granddaughter, Selena Green.  

She is survived by three sons, Ronnie (Judy) Castle, Earl Castle, and Hurshel (Josie) Castle Jr.; six daughters, Patsy (Mickey) Clark, Kathleen Thompson, Wilma (Ray) Blevins, Phyllis (Michael) Pigg, Saundra (Greg) Hall, and Dena Hampton; twenty grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a very special caregiver, Donna Blevin,; and a host of nieces & nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and friends.              

She was a Homemaker and the oldest member of George’s Creek United Baptist Church. She had a laugh that would win anybody’s heart and will be missed by many. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at George’s Creek United Baptist Church in Lowmansville, KY with Elder Paul Castle officiating. Burial will follow in the Castle Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, January 12 after 06:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home.
