Obituary of Joseph Wayne Cox

Joseph Wayne Cox, 68, of Huntington, WV passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022, at his home. Mr. Cox was born May 29, 1953, in Georgia to the late John Burton and Ada Lee Lindsey Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha M. Robertson and Tammy M. Etheridge, and one brother, Elbert Cox.

He is survived by one son, Robert "Robbie" Wayne Cox; three daughters, Mandy Hammond, Wendy Jones, and Carrie Prince; two brothers, Robert Cox and Albert Cox; one sister, Ann Garrett; five grandsons; five granddaughters; five great grandchildren; and lots of nieces & nephews.

He was a general contractor for plumbing & heating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Robertson Cemetery in Fort Gay, WV with Rev. Mack Ray Cyrus officiating. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, March 10 from 6-9PM PM at the Wilson Funeral Home. All care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
