Obituary of Olen Thompson

Olen Thompson, 80, of Fort Gay, WV passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022, at his home. Olen was born May 1, 1941, in Fort Gay, West Virginia to the late Bill and Lizzie Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Thompson, one son, Olen Randy Thompson, one daughter, Betty Ratliff, four brothers, Lawrence Thompson, Joe Thompson, Richard Thompson, and Jimmy Thompson, one sister, Rosa Belle Caudillone grandson, Justin Thompson, and one granddaughter, Jessica Thompson.

He is survived by three sons, Bill  (Leca) Thompson, William R. (Amanda) Thompson, and Randall (Christy) Thompson; one daughter, Tammy Thompson; three sisters, Rhonda Lamb, Georgia Frazier, and Tennie Vanhoose; fourteen grandsons, William James Thompson, Seth Thompson, Noah Aaron Thompson, Joseph Randy Adkins, Dakota Wayne Adkins, Eric Randy Thompson, Kevin Thompson, William Thompson, Jr., Andrew Thompson, Daniel Paul Thompson, Taylor Mason Thompson, Cameron Ray Thompson, Joshua Aaron Ratliff, and John Jacob Ratliff; three granddaughters, Sarah Marie Thompson, Katelyn Nicole Thompson, and Amanda Thompson; and seven greatgrandchildren, Eli, Isaac, Matthew, Logan, Ryan, Emily, and Jonathan.  

He was a maintenance worker for N & W Railroad.

Funeral services will be conducted at Noon on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Thompson Cemetery.  Friends may visit the family on Saturday, April 2 from 10 AM until the time of services at the Wilson Funeral Home. All care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
