Q: How did you meet Billy?
A: I first met Bill on the day he married my Sister Wilma . I was only 13 years old . When my family came back home to Ohio I remember looking at Wilma’s empty bed and then I started crying . Bill brought Wilma back to Ohio several times a year and we grew to love him like a brother. I would stay with them a few weeks during summer vacation. We would shoot rifles , take walks through the hills , watch westerns on tv . Bill loved his soup beans and cornbread. Bill worked hard all his life, he had a wonderful sense of humor . He always made me laugh. He was a great husband to my Sister , a great Father , and provider for his family . My Mom would call me and my Sister’s and say Wilma and Bill are coming up this weekend , you gotta come over and see them while they are here . It was always a big deal . Our family had so much fun together. Cousins got to play together, Dad and brother in laws did their thing . Then there was always a big feast . Bill will be missed so much . I am so thankful for so many wonderful memories of him ! May God comfort All his family and friends ! To know Bill was to Love Bill ! He left a Beautiful legacy behind for generations !

He was the best husband, father, and grandfather that anyone could have. I was very blessed to have him as my husband. I thank God for every day we had together. There is not enough words that could ever describe how much I will miss this wonderful man of mine. I will carry him in my heart forever and always. I love him with everything that I am. My life will never be the same without you.
• Favorite quality about Billy:
He never changed who he was to please others, he was the same person to everyone he met.
• Words to best describe Billy:
Hardworking, loved his family deeply.

Your memory is my keepsake
With which we’ll never part
God has you in his keeping
I have you in my heart
To the best pepaw a granddaughter could ask for, I will always remember the good times we shared. How you said to me “ don’t get to close, you don’t want pepaw to get your pretty dress dirty” for my first dance. I’ll remember dancing on the newly built floors of mom and dads house as we celebrated moving in to the next step. I will love you forever more. I promise to keep making you proud.
Love your granddaughter,
Emmylou

I remember being really little and one of my favorite times of the year was the Christmas get togethers at mamaw and papaw Thompsons, one year in particular I remember going into the kitchen and seeing all if the treats and I wanted one so badly but knew we were supposed to wait but I remember this one year uncle billy reaching on the table and getting him a snack and motioned that it might be ok that I get one as well. I dont remember what I got exactly but I remember feeling really happy and thinking that was the best thing ever.
I always remember my dad and Billy working together and being really close. I always thought they looked so much a like. I was at dads when Tanner was a toddler and we walked on the porch and uncle Billy was standing there talking to dad and Tanner stopped in his tracks and stared at them both and looked at me and said mommy look another papaw. He thought it was papaw Ronnie's twin.
Uncle Billy was definitely one of the greatest. He will be missed by many and leaving a wonderful Legacy. Loved and admired by so many.
I know my dad is heartbroken as well.
We love you Billy and miss you. Until we meet again.
Prayers for comfort and love to his beautiful wife and children who are hurting through this love you all so much and GOD BLESS.
