Obituary of Eloise Humble

Eloise Conway Humble 92 of Woodruff, South Carolina formerly of Lawrence County Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on October 31, 2022, following a long illness. Eloise was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Orr, Kentucky the daughter of the late Lewis and Georgia Mae Mulkey Conway. She was a retired nurse, taught nursing, and owned a respite care home for WW II veterans. She was also a member of the Buchanan Chapel Church and the Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James Delbert Humble Sr. who died in 1969, daughters Mary Ellen LeMaster and son-in-law Jack LeMaster, daughter Jamie Schritter, her beloved son James Delbert Humble Jr. and grandson Elijah James Crum, sisters Ester Altevogoht, Thelma Dunn, Maxine Anderson, Eva Hart, Anna Conway, Nina Conway, Naoma White, and Tempy Linville, and brothers Thurman, Harry, Lowell, and James.  

Survivors include daughters Sandra Kay Moore of Prestonsburg, Debra Davis (Joe) of Spartanburg, SC, and Tammy Humble Kalb (David Griffith Sr) of Prestonsburg; a brother Ronald Conway of Ashland; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank her special caregivers Terry, Tammy, Kelly, Mesha, Wandra, Karen, Lauren, and Lisa. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 4th at 11:00 am at the Buchanan Chapel Church with Rev. Keith Workman officiating. Burial will follow in the Buchanan Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6-9 at the funeral home. Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
