Obituary of Anita Clotine Bailey
Anita “Clotine” Ferguson Bailey 84, of Louisa changed her residence to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, December 11 at her home surrounded by her loving dedicated family that was able to care for her in the home with the assistance of Hospice. She was born on July 26, 1938 in Paintsville, KY to William Isaac “Ike” and Lexie Fyffe Ferguson of Crockett, KY.
In addition to her loving parents, Clotine was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Billy Nelson Bailey, a son James Edwin, a foster sister Roberta Hutchinson and a grandson-in-law Morrison Stepp.
Left to cherish their memories made with Clotine and to carry on her legacy, are a daughter Gina Michele Fyffe and her husband Randy of Mesa, Arizona and a son, Brian Keith Bailey and his wife Angie of Louisa. Nana’s true pride and joy are her grandchildren Brandon Fyffe and his wife Lyndsey, Brittany Bailey Stepp, Trenton Fyffe and his wife Alyssa and Austin Bailey and his wife Ally along with one great-granddaughter Amelia Rosalind and two step great-grandchildren Austin and Abbi Step and one little special boy Liam.
Clotine was a graduate of Morgan County High School, Mayo Vocational School and Morehead State University. Clotine was retired from the Lawrence County School System where she taught Business Education for 32 years and was a substitute for eight additional years. Clotine loved her students and the teacher-student relationship turned into a life-long friendship in most cases. She was also a member of the Lawrence County Retired Teachers Association and the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association.
Once a teacher always a teacher--------Clotine taught her family the value of hard work, to set goals and work hard to reach those goals, live your dreams but first and foremost put God first in your life followed by your family. Clotine lived a life of high morals and passed this trait on to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church at Martha, KY.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 17th at 1:00 pm at the Louisa Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Cecil Ferguson and Rev. Greg Tomlinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Family Cemetery at Blaine, KY. Friends may visit the family on Friday December 16th from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Louisa Free Will Baptist Church.
