Obituary of Jim Shannon

James Anthony "Jim" Shannon, 65, of Louisa, passed away on Saturday December 31, 2022 following a brief illness.
Jim was born on Tuesday April 30, 1957 in Louisa Kentucky, the son of the late James Cleon and the late Phyllis Ann (Pack) Shannon. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his younger brother, Jerry Lee Shannon and a niece Dawn Jean Rice.

Jim worked many different jobs as a staple of his community from delivering groceries to a Computer Technician with the Lawrence Country School system. Jim is well known for his many years as a school bus driver and custodial duties.

Jim is survived his loving wife, Marsha (Rice) Shannon;  A sister, Theresa and husband Eddie West;  Nephews, David and wife Loni Blevins, Jeremiah and wife Eva West, David Rice, Kyle and wife Kendra Rice, and Thad and wife Rachel Blevins; Nieces,
Mikie Kean, Cathy and husband Steve Hicks, Shanda and husband Henry Adkins and Bethann Blevins.

Jim and Marsha were also blessed with Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews, Annavey Kean, Sam Hicks, Sarah Hicks, Jaden Adkins, Kendall Adkins, Molly Hicks, William Blevins, Conrad Blevins, Elisha Blevins-Rodgers, Bode Blevins, and Noah Kai West.

Jim also leaves behind a host of cousins, family, friends, and special students who considered him "Uncle Jim" and/or "Dad".

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan 5th 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home of Louisa with burial following in the Ranson Cemetery located behind Myrtle Chapel Church on Five Forks Road in Louisa. Services will be officiated by Rev. Ric Frazier.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Jan 4 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home.

Donations to offset the funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated and should be left at Wilson Funeral Home.
