Obituary of Emmons Daniel Preece

Emmons “Dan” Preece, 81 of Louisa, KY passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday March 4, 2023. He was born on December 27, 1941 in Inez, KY, the son of the late Forrest and Lenore Preece. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandpa.
He was preceded in death by his parents Forrest and Lenore Preece; sisters Louise Branham and Rowena Crum; and grandson Brett Geiger.
Dan is survived by his loving wife Patricia “Patty” Preece; children Erica (Jason) Vinson, Paula Preece, Sue Geiger, Dan Jr. (Debbie) Preece, Rick (Misty) Harmon, and Jack (Karen) Harmon; sister Nadine May; many wonderful grandchildren Ashley (Donavon) Skellett, Tiffany (Alex) Lopez, Kayla (Skylar) Ishmel, Shayna (Trevor) Hemming, Chloe Vinson, Gabe Vinson, Tabatha Harmon, Zachary Harmon, Nicholas (Isabella) Harmon, Brittany (Charles) Headoick, Ryan (Kim) Preece; and many wonderful great-grandchildren.
Dan was a member of Bells Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He was a 20 year veteran with the Air Force, a deputy for the Lawrence Co. Sheriff Department, a jailer, and substitute teacher for LC schools.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. If anyone would like to give donations they can be given to the Bells Chapel youth group or to Community Hospice.
