Obituary of Ruby Hardwick

Ruby Hardwick 92 of Vinson Branch Road Fort Gay, West Virginia passed away April 28, 2023 at her home following a brief illness.

Ruby was born January 19, 1931 in Floyd County, the daughter of the late Willard and Delilah Waddles Osborne. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband James Robert "Jim Bob" Hardwick who passed January 4, 2013.

Ruby was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse at the Louisa Medical Clinic and a member of the Fort Gay Missionary Baptist Church.  She loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time on the farm and in her garden. She also enjoyed sitting on the porch talking with her friends and neighbors.

She is survived by a Great Niece Rachel Nyman and fiance' Bob Jewell; a cousin Bruce Waddels; and good friends, neighbors, and caregivers Doug and Sherry Perry.

The family is very grateful for Karen Ratcliffe, Kristie Preston, Judy Jackson, and Maggie Morgan her caregivers who gave her much comfort in her final days.

A Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday May 1st at 3:00 pm at the Greenlawn Cemetery East with Rev. Tim Preston and Pastor Chris Wilson officiating.
