Obituary of Lowell Gene Hayes

Lowell Gene Hayes 84 of Charley, Kentucky passed away September 12, 2023 at his home following a long illness.

Gene was born May 7, 1939 at Louisa, Kentucky the son of the late Otto and Gertrude Daniels Hayes. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Pauline Moore Hayes.

Gene worked at the Louisa Carpet Mill and retired from Wilson Funeral Home. He was a member of the Chandlersville Masonic Lodge 858 and he was a Kentucky Colonel. Gene loved to farm and fish.

Survivors include two sons Lowell Gene Hayes Jr. and Scott Hayes; a grandson Ryan Hayes, a granddaughter Emily Danielle Hayes; and a brother Larry Hayes.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 14th at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Wilson and Rev. Willie Gene Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the Yatesville Memorial Gardens at Louisa, Kentucky. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 11:00 am till time of services at Wilson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Wilson Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
