Obituary of William Collins
William “Driveshaft” Collins 72 of Jennies Creek Road Kermit, West Virginia passed away October 3, 2023, at Cabell Huntington Hospital following a brief illness.
William was born October 26, 1950, at Williamson, West Virginia, the son of the late Logan Jr. and Sarah Marcum Collins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Gracie Copley Collins who died in 2016, and three brothers Sammy Lee, Richard, and James Kelly Collins.
William was a retired truck driver and proudly served in the United States Navy during Vietnam.
Survivors include two daughters Brenda (E.R.) Webb , Christine (Ossie) Lucas , and a son Birdie (Tyler) Collins; sisters Shirley (Bob) Hunter and Joyce Collins; a brother Bobby Dale (Ruth) Collins; and a sister Tenia (Rick) Hay; grandchildren Paige Stacy, Gary (Bailey) Einfeldt, Jeremy Webb, Gage Stacy, Logan Einfeldt, Eric Webb, and Mark Webb; great grandchildren Jace Mounts, Ashtin Newsome, and Ryker Einfeldt; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins that he loved dearly.
Funeral services with military honors will be conducted on Sunday October 8th at 3:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Gabriel Smith and Rev. Aaron Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Birdie Copley Cemetery Fort Gay, West Virginia. Friends may visit the family on Saturday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.
