I will always remember the fun times I had with my cousin Noah and his twin brother David when we were kids which included the times we got in trouble. As young kids, we all lived together with Granny Effie and Uncle Frank for a short period. Granny had to put him with 3 adults and 5 young kids getting into mischief, not to mention a bunch of other grandchildren. As years went by, we grew up and all went our separate ways, myself moved to Georgia and raised my kids there. As life happens, we experience death of our loved ones, some taken to early others who have lived long and still with us. In our busy adult lives we forget about those days that kept us close as a family. When tragedy hits, we begin to remember those lost days but it’s so hard to reconnect still. I think about Noah and his life and I wish I had reconnected with him when I moved back home seven years ago. You think I’ll have time then time comes and goes. Well I finally made that time happen two days before Thanksgiving and so glad I did. Even though he was frail sitting there at the Kitchen table, he seemed strong in his spirit. I knew my visit perked him up. A sweet lady friend was present that made the visit even more special. We talked of mom, granny and uncle Frank. He remembered the time we got into trouble riding the couch cushions down the stairs. We three got one of the worst whipins from Uncle Frank, well it was for me, but I could tell he hated to whip me. Reminiscing with Noah made my day and his too. We also talked about the love and Goodness of God and how we will be with our loved ones again in Heaven. He lifted his weak head up and with a sparkle in his eyes he said “ yep, we have that hope, we’ll see them again” now that made my day. Before leaving we had a moment of prayer. As I was leaving I thought this might be the last time I would see him. Noah I know you struggled with this life but now you a free from all that. Fly high on that mountain until I see you again.
