Obituary of Billy Ray Roberts

Billy Ray Roberts born January 25, 1941 went to his heavenly home January 25, 2024 with his loving wife Nan by his side.

Billy was born in Little Blaine, KY to the late John Everett and Estia Cleora (Moore) Roberts.

Billy is survived by his wife Nannie, they celebrated 64 years of marriage on September 10, 2023; daughters Ruth (Mike) Meek, Cindy (Michael) Marquez, Shelia Roberts, Barbara (Charles) Riscavage; grandsons Brandon (Jessica) Meek, Seth (Shelby) Meek, Justin Riscavage, Joshua Riscavage; granddaughters Mindy Marquez (Ashely), Cassandra (Jose) Asenisco Marquez, Sarah (Lobo) Garcia; great-grandsons Nathaniel Marquez, Emanuel Asenisco Marquez, Samuel Marquez, Alexander Asenisco Marquez, Gabriel Asenisco Marquez, Eli Garcia, Conway Meek, Simon Meek, Michael Lee Meek, and Mason Meek; great-grandaughters Josyln Garcia, Sofia Marquez, Olive Meek, Halsey Miller Marquez (baby blue eyes) and one due July 24th; brother Elwood and Maryann Roberts; sisters Jean Carter and Jenny Jenks; sister-in-laws Nadene Roberts and Thursie Bartram-Wellman and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

Billy was retired from Celanese Plastic where he worked as a maintenance lead in Columbus, OH and Huntington, WV. Billy was reunited with his son Johnny Ray Roberts; his parents Cleora Moore Roberts and Everett Roberts; his in-laws Gypsy Adams Wellman and Harlan Welman; several brothers Jack and Helen, Paul and Merle, Robert and Geraldine, Johnny Lee, Leon, Charles, Joseph Roberts; sisters Emily and John Cain, Dorothy and Lindsey Chaffins and numerous brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and nieces and nephews. 

Billy loved the Lord with his whole heart. He loved his family and loved being papaw. He loved large family gatherings, Resurrection Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and our annual Father's Day gathering. He was an amazing craftsman, he loved working with his hands, he would work with wood and metals to make anything from rings to houses, garages, guns, and knives.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 31st at 1:30 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Noah Wilks officiating. Burial will follow at the Yatesville Memorial Gardens in Louisa, KY.

Friends may visit the family from 11:00 am until the time of services at the Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa, KY.
