Obituary of Samuel Self

Samuel Self 94 of Louisa, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2024, following a brief illness. 

Sam was born May 17, 1929, at Swifton, Arkansas, the son of the late Sam and Clara Hawkins Self. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter Debbie Guthrie, and a son Steve Self. 

He was a Christian and proudly served in the United States Army-Air Force during the Korean War. 

Survivors include his loving wife Lorene Moore Self; grandsons Sam Saner and Caleb Guthrie; granddaughters Madeline Self and Lauren Marquez-Ulloa; daughter-in-law Margie Self; and son-in-law Matthew Guthrie. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday February 12th at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church Louisa with Rev. Chuck Price and Rev. Ronnie Childers officiating. Burial will follow with full Military Honors in the Self Cemetery at 970 Long Fork Road Louisa, Kentucky. 

Friends may visit the family on Monday at the First Baptist Church Louisa from 11:00 am until time of services.
