Obituary of Lucille Diamond
Lucille “Lucy” Jackson Diamond of Catlettsburg, Ky passed away on February 15, 2024 at Community Hospice in Ashland at 71 years old. Lucy was the sixth of ten children born to Clarence and Sarah “Ruby” Lee Jackson, who have preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Danny Joe Diamond; daughter Tracie McCall and son-in-law Brandon Shane of Key West, Florida; son Danny Diamond Jr and grandson Carter Logan Diamond. She was preceded in death by brothers Homer and Millard Jackson. Surviving siblings are Sherla Triplett of Obetz, OH, Don (Joy) Jackson of Carroll, OH, James “Speedy” (Gwinn) Jackson, Elmer Jackson, Junior (Angie) Jackson, Cleve Jackson, and Harold “Butch” (Debbie) Jackson of Louisa, KY.
Lucy graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1971 and later attended Huntington Business College and Ashland Vocational School. She began her over 40 year career with Geiger Speech and Hearing Centers, eventually the Hearing Center, from which Lucy retired in 2017.
Lucy impacted countless lives as Treasurer of the Catlettsburg Boyd Optimist Club. She volunteered managing concessions at the park, running their charitable bingo games at the Steel workers hall and delivering holiday meals and presents to those in need. Lucy was elected to the first ever Site Based Council for Boyd County High School in 1995.
Visitation will be at the Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa on Friday, February 23 from 4 – 9pm, and Saturday February 24 from 10 am - noon. Funeral service will be at noon, followed by interment at the family cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
