Obituary of Virginia Fern Slone

Virginia "Fern" Slone 91 of Huntington, West Virginia formerly of Mill Creek went home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2024.

Fern was born March 30, 1933 at Fort Gay, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Nathan Barlow and Irene Lotus Harless Sword. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband James "Elmer" Slone who died in 2016.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Terry and Jeannie Slone; two grandsons Ryan (Katie) Slone and Adam (Micaela) Slone, a granddaughter Terri Dawn (Terrence) Burks; great grandchildren Zack Becker, Slade Becker, Tawnie Burks, Asher Slone, Hudson Slone and Lucy Slone; a friend and caregiver Tina Robertson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 14th at 10:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Smith and Rev. Kenny Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Pratt Cemetery on Hampton Ridge Radnor, West Virginia.

Friends may visit the family on Monday May 13th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.
