I can picture Michael sitting at the counter and telling stories of the properties he sold.
There home on the Ashepoo river and the beautiful flowers that surround their home. The fishing trips, the fun with friends and let’s not forget the food!
Michael loved to cook and loved to share all the delicious meals he and Patricia would make.
Michael’s smile and laugh was contagious! I can picture Michael with a twinkling in his eye and a grin on his face, always left me wondering what he was remembering? We all know how ornery he could be.
One of my favorite memories was a trip we took last year to the top of the ridge sharing the wonderful weather and the fall colors and ending the day around the fire pit reminiscing and eating smores.
“Some people come into our lives and quietly go…Some stay for a while and leave footprints on your heart…and we are changed forever! “
Thank you Michael! We are happy to have had you in our lives with all the memories!

Q: What will you never forget about Michael?
A: We always had fun time hanging out with him at his house on the Ashepoo. Thunder storms the best. We hear thunder we pass the bottle. He was Awesome. He will be missed.

Mr. Mike … we surly made some wonderful memories at the Ashepoo River.
From those night time golf cart rides to the hangman tree or around the dyke. The pontoon excursion pass Monkey Island and to the sandbar. Hanging out with Casey, his tower of power and those wonderful 4th July parties. The nights of laughter on the porch where so many lies were told. Mr. Bill and of course Perry shooting the armadillo under the boat.
Oh!! I can’t forget your famous
St. Paddy Day corn-beef & cabbage.
All of these memories make me smile and knowing you were a big part of those memories warms my heart.
Even though we won’t be making new memories I will always treasure the one we made.
Love you guy… Arlene

Mike will be missed, he was a man of his word and someone that could be trusted. When he and Pat had their Ashepoo River cabin he cooked us all many a fine meal . We probably tipped a bottle or 2 of his secrete bourbon stash from Kentucky. He was a friend ,and Bills good friend as well. Our thoughts and prayers go out for Pat and the entire family. Michael, my wild Irish brother,
I’m really going to miss you. No more check-ins on Friday night. No more having a good laugh at the crazy political landscape. No more getting recipes, calling you up to see how I cook fish, no more…Not now anyway.
We Irish believe in thin time – the time after someone dies when the veil between the worlds is porous. We went for a hike this morning and all I could think about was you. We saw this crazy lone blossom, on this huge cholla (cactus) just getting ready to bloom. It was beautiful. NM cactus finished blooming in June so this was atypical. I imagine your beautiful soul, free at last, just blooming like crazy.
Being the oldest, I’m really the lucky one, Mike. I got to know you, be friends, confide in you and have fun with you for longer than any of us We watched out for each other. So many crazy times. So many memories. You could always make me laugh. Pat and Kevin are like that too.
They say we came from stardust and to stardust we will return. I know you are shining brightly in the far yonder, a twinkling star like that gleam in your eye when you smiled. I’ll be watching for you.
I wish I could be there to send you off but I’ll see you on the other side, Mike. Look for me when I come your way.
I love you, brother, beyond and beyond.
Rennie

Q: What will you never forget about Michael?
A: Peeps was always a pretty simple man, he loved his football, wife, cooking and his cold drink he always had in his hand. My favorite memory of peeps is him and I at sunset beach always going down to island market for him to get his newspaper and he would always get me a donut. We always would drive down together cause we were the early birds of the family. We’d hop in his white Tacoma truck and head down. Then we’d come back, sit on the front porch in the rocking chairs and I’d eat my donut and he’d read his newspaper. Some of the best memories of my life peeps was there for it. He loved his family and he loved his grandkids, I will never forget these fond memories of my childhood. Love and miss you peeps.

Just wanted to say heaven will never be the same now with Perry and Michael reminiscing about Crosby’s landing and stories told about the Ashepoo River. What fun times my Dad had with Michael and partner in crime Miss Pat! The cook outs and parties were the best. Pat always took care of everything and I’m sad he is gone, but in peace. Thoughts and prayers are with yall through this time.
Xox Merri Griffin and the Mckeithan family.
Peace be with you.

The world is lost a very good man. I have many fond memories of all of us sitting on his back porch on the ashapoo river having some Frosty Beverages and laughing till my side hurt. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone. He and Pat were great friends with my father for many years. I'm sure there fishing and telling lies in heaven. He'll be greatly missed by my family and many others. RIP my friend.... Paul Mckeithan and family
