Obituary of Taylor Marcum

Please share a memory of Taylor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

We mourn the loss of a bright, young soul, Caleb "Taylor" Marcum, whom due to unimaginable circumstances he did not deserve, passed away between August 7th to the 10th of 2024. Born August 25th, 2004 in Louisa, KY to Daniel Lee and Carla Frazier Marcum and raised as a creek boy in Fort Gay, WV by his father Daniel and his ride or die mommy Jamie Marcum. Taylor loved his family and the holler where he will be laid to rest.

Taylor's journey, though brief, was marked by his remarkable humbleness, an unwavering spirit of kindness, the most warm, welcoming and contagious smile, a passion for life and a pestering need to make others laugh. From a young age, Taylor accepted the Lord and throughout it all no matter where he was in life he never lost his faith. Taylor's quick wit, kind heart and adventurous spirit touched everyone he met. He was known for his ability to light up a room although at times he could give your a heart attack from his wild pranks. He was always laid back unless he was causing chaos. Never meeting a stranger nor making an enemy.

Taylor will be greatly missed by his parents Daniel, Jamie and Carla, grandparents James "JD", Hattie and Sandy, his crew of brothers who were his best friends Josh, Hunter, Camryn, Decker, Elijah, Brantlee, and Noah, two sisters who he adored and would fight through fire for Caidance and Neveah and his brother at heart little Daniel.

He was blessed to have two aunt Mimi's Melissa and Amanda, an aunt JenJen, his protective uncles Norman, Todd, and Tic, a very special great aunt Bobo, and a host of cousins, family and friends he shared plenty of laughter and memories with.

Services for Taylor will be held at Tabors Creek Church in Fort Gay with visitation on August 16th, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the time of services followed by a church service at 2:00 pm ending in burial in the Marcum Cemetery on Parsons Holler in Fort Gay. Officiating are Denny Brown and Ellis Maynard. Taylor's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
