Obituary of Anna Ruth Lycan

Anna Ruth Lycan 86 of Fort Gay, West Virginia passed away peacefully October 4, 2024 following a long illness.

Anna Ruth was born August 16, 1938 at Whitehouse, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Mack and Lucy Murray Akers. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband EB Lycan, two grandsons Jesse Lycan and Joey Robinett; and three brothers Jimmy, Lowell Perry, and Mackie Akers.

She was retired from the Wayne County Board of Education and was also a member of the Belles Chapel Church.

Survivors include two daughters Lynn (George) Robinett and Ann (Larry) Robinett, a son John (Liz) Lycan; two brothers Paul Akers and Harry Morris Akers; grandchildren Tommy Robinett, Earl Robinett, Kacy Leedy, Adam Robinett, Joshua Robinett, and Lucy Robinson; and five great grandchildren.

We would like to thank the staff of The Jordan Center who took such good care of our mother. They treated her, and us, with such kindness and compassion. We are truly grateful.

Private burial will be held at a later date to be announced by the family.

Care for Anna Ruth and her family has been entrusted to our family at Wilson Funeral Home.
