Obituary of Dennis Ray Gibson

Dennis Ray Gibson 75 of Gibson Lane Catlettsburg, Kentucky passed away December 7, 2024 at the Community Hospice Care Center following a long illness.

Dennis was born February 28, 1949 at Catlettsburg, Kentucky the son of the late Noah and Mattie George Gibson. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife Wanda Bryant Gibson, brothers James Gibson, Curt Moore and Charles Moore; sister Charlotte Cartmel; granddaughter Krista Counts, and best friend Larry "Bear" Hill.

Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was a retired carpenter for the Mountain Enterprise Corporation.

Survivors include  daughters Tammy Gibson and Tonya Gibson Babcock and husband Charlie and Joyce Boggs; grandchildren Carly Babcock and Ryan Counts; Grand Dog Marly; brothers Fred (Brenda Akers) Gibson, Danny (Linda) Gibson, Glen Gibson, and Bill Gibson; sisters Sharon Tooley, Greta Grayson, Pauletta (John) McNabb, Helen Ferrell, and Bell (Ed) Adkins; special friends Mike Amos, Bobby Bellomy, Ted McPeek, Tom Cartmel, and Rosie Rosado; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 12th at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Amos and Bro. Mike Gibson officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors in the Hap Memorial Gardens at 10068 Gibson Lane Catlettsburg, KY.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday December 11th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.
