Ruth Collie 78 of Fort Gay, WV went to be with the Lord on Saturday December 21, 2013. Ruth was born July 20, 1935 at Webb, WV, the daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Minnie Copley Bowens. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Beldon Monroe Collie Jr. who died in 1988, a sister, two brothers, and grandson Charles Edward Sammons II. Ruth was a homemaker and member of the Webb FWB Church. Survivors include three daughters and son-in laws Linda and Bruce Crum of Stepptown, WV, Judith and Charles Sammons and Jessica and Eugene Justice all of Crum, WV; three sons Walter Collie, Gary and wife Kimberly Collie, and Larry and wife Hazel Collie all of Fort Gay, WV; a sister Thelma Mosley Hunt of Lorain, OH, eleven grandchildren Danny, Tonia, Chris, Jason, Dawn, Joseph, J.B., Tanner, Hayley, Braxton, and Bethany; eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday Dec. 24th at 11:00 am at the Webb FWB Church with Bro. Wayne Meddings, Bro. Everett Meddings, Bro. Kimble Copley, and Bro. Luther Dingess officiating. Burial will follow in the Joe Sammons Cemetery at Webb, WV. Friends may call after 6:00 pm Monday at the Wilson Funeral Home.
