Alger Ray Maxie 55 of Louisa, KY passed away Friday Feb. 7, 2014 at Kings Daughters Medical Center following a brief illness. Alger was born Feb. 20, 1958 at Louisa, the son of the late Woodrow and Imogene Reeves Maxie. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his brothers Alex Maxie and Avery Maxie. He was a blaster for Nelson Brothers Mining Company. Survivors include his loving wife Wanda Scaggs Maxie, a daughter Amy Maxie of Louisa, three sons Shannon (Amy) Maxie, Justin (Marti) Maxie, and Jeremy (Cindy) Maxie all of Louisa; two sisters Avis Morgan of Louisa and Joan Adkins of Logan, WV; a brother Anthony Maxie of Martha, KY; thirteen grandchildren Hannah Maxie, Jaylee Maxie, Lucas Simpkins, Brady Simpkins, Camber Maxie, Hunter Maxie, Alison Horton, Tyler Horton, Bella Morgan, Kaleb Maxie, Karsen Maxie, Madison Ballou, and Landyn Ballou. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday Feb. 11th at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Osborne and Rev. Ronnie Childers officiating. Burial will follow in the Scaggs Cemetery at Louisa, KY. Friends may call after 5:00 pm Monday at the Wilson Funeral Home.
