Bessie Laney 87, of Louisa, the daughter of the late Dave and Nora Dove Fraley Fitch of Peach Orchard, born Feb. 18, 1926, passed from this world for her eternal home Monday Feb. 17th after a short illness at Three Rivers Medical Center. Bessie is preceded by her husband Walter Milton Laney, three sons, David, Melvin, and Mikey, one daughter Janie, also three grandsons, Melvin Lloyd (Buddie) Preston, Walter Benjamin May, and Mathew Douglas May, and one granddaughter, Martha Jean Preston Wells. Bessie is survived by four daughters Junell May (Willard), Annie Dutton (Brad), Louella Stepp (James), Mickey Rose (William) all of Louisa, 19 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and one brother Milton Fitch, also of Louisa; also many nephews and nieces, and a great host of her extended family that are hid with Christ in God, some on this side and others that await with her on the other side for us to gather forever in our Heavenly Home. Bessie and Milton often sang as their part in the service of the Lord or testified of what the Lord had done for them, during which Bessie shouted for the victory to come, not for the battle or sickness but for the victory. So often when they sang the Church rejoiced in God our Saviour. Looking for that blessed hope that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday Feb. 21st at 1:00 pm at the Richardson Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with Bro. Brad Dutton and Bro. Tommy Meade officiating. Burial will follow in the Laney Cemetery at Richardson, KY. Friends may call Thursday Feb. 20th from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Richardson Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.
