Samantha Danielle Wood 14 of Louisa passed away Friday March 2, 2012 following a tragic storm in Lawrence County. Samantha was a 9th grade student at Lawrence County High School, member of the National Junior Honor Society and a proud member of the percussion section of the Lawrence County High School Band. She was born Nov. 4, 1997 in Pontiac, Michigan, the daughter of Karen Chaffins Wood and the late Andrew Scott Wood. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her grandmother Joyce Chaffins. Survivors include her mother Karen Wood of Louisa; grandfather Glen Chaffins also of Louisa, two brothers Tyler Wood and Austin Wood both at home, uncles and aunts Allen and wife Terry Wood and Anthony and wife Gina Wood, cousins Ryan and Emily Wood. Joint funeral services will be conducted on Thursday March 8th at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home by Rev. Roger Ross. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery at Webb, WV. Friends may call after 5:00 pm Wednesday March 7th at the Wilson Funeral Home.
