Ray Williams, 93, of Blaine peacefully passed away at home Saturday, July 19, 2014. Ray was born February 19, 1921 at Blevins, KY., son of the late William S. Williams and Rena Boggs Williams. He was preceded in death in 2012 by the love of his life for over 70 years, Juanita Ison Williams; one son in 2014, Billy Ray Williams; four brothers Virgil Williams, Delbert Williams, Lonnie Williams and Arnold Williams; one sister Opal Williams Caldwell. Ray was a life-time farmer, teacher, property developer, saw mill owner and operator, public servant, and a former Lawrence County Judge Executive. He was a hard worker and took his work very seriously. During the end of his college years at Morehead College, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served in the Philippines during WWII. Surviving Ray are two children, Norma Miller, and Robert (Charlene) Williams both of Louisa; 7 grandchildren, Patricia (Denny) Hatfield, John (Tammy) Thompson, James Mondale Thompson, Christopher (Joanna) Williams, Denise (Dan) Farry, Chad (Patricia) Williams, and Kellie (Eddie) Dixon; 13 great-grandchildren, Sarah and Aaron Hatfield, Bailey Thompson, KaSandra, Tommy and Trevor Thompson, Katie and Ellen Williams, Georgia, Morgan, and Lauren Ray Farry, Mallori Dixon, and Blaine Williams; 1 great-great grandchild, Noah Ray Herndon. A joint funeral service for Ray and his wife Juanita Williams will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 26 at the Cains Creek Church on Cains Creek. Pastor, Mike Roberts, will officiate. Burial will be in the Boggs family cemetery on Cains Creek. There is no visitation. Instead of flowers, donations may be sent to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, (VFW) of Louisa, post 6103, PO Box 476 Louisa, KY 41230. Wilson Funeral Home of Louisa is in charge of arrangements.
