Linard G Gilliam, age 80, of Martha, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at his home . Mr. Gilliam was born April 19, 1934 in Elliott County , KY. He is the son of the late Jess and the late Rena (Sparks) Gilliam. He was a retired Ashland Oil Employee. He is survived by four daughters: Brenda Maxie of Martha, KY, Karen Montgomery and husband Ike of Sandy Hook, Sheila Howard of Inez, KY, Chasity Gilliam of Martha, KY and one son: Danny Lynn Gilliam and wife Ronda of Grove City, OH; Survivors also include two sisters: Carol Jean Fannin of Martha, KY and Evon Sparks also of Martha, KY; he also has eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents Linard is preceded in death by his wife Loena Sparks Gilliam and also three brothers and three sisters. The funeral will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Martha, KY with Rev. Emmitt Barker officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilliam Family Cemetery, Martha on Wednesday, August 20 at 1:00 pm. Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 19 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Elizabeth Baptist Church, Martha, KY.
