Eddie Lewis McCoy, lovingly known as "Papaw Ed", passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the age of 84.Ed lived in Louisa Ky, he was born March 27, 1930 in Red Jacket , WV. He is the son of the late Tracy and the late Hazel (Fluty) McCoy. In addition to his parents Ed is preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years Carol Jean Preece McCoy, 4 brothers; Paul, Bobby, Claude and Tom and 1 sister Betty. Mr. McCoy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war, retired from N&S Railroad after 50 years of service and faithfully volunteered at Three Rivers Medical Center for the last 14 yrs. He is survived by three daughters: Sherry Compton and husband Bryan of Louisa, KY, Luanne Kelly and Husband Rick also of Louisa and Edra Vinson and husband Eddie of Concord North Carolina. Also 6 Grandchildren; Kyla Farley and husband David of Belfrey, Cody Kelly of Louisa, Blake Compton of Louisa, Austin Vinson of Concord NC, Taylor Kelly of Louisa and Harrison Vinson also of Concord North Carolina. Papaw Ed also had 2 Great Grandchildren Connor and William Farley. Mr. McCoy also leaves behind a special friend Jan Crum and 4 brothers; Ernest(Alma) McCoy of Inez, Clyde (Dottie) McCoy of Wheelersburg Oh, Floyd (Alice) McCoy of Inez and Roger (Debbie) McCoy of Galloway Oh. Also 6 sisters; Edith Davis of Wheelersburg, Jean (Bird) Belcher of Orient Oh, Pat Fitch of Inez, Violet (Terry) Miller of Inez, Wanda (Edgar) Hatfield of Columbus and Peggy Fannin of Inez. Also surviving Mr. McCoy are 25 nieces and nephews, 53 Great Nieces and nephews and 36 Great Great Nieces and nephews, Besides being a member of the Friendship United Baptist Church, Ed also enjoyed attending the early Worship Service and Sunday School at the First Baptist Church of Louisa. Papaw Ed was proud to be a member of the Odd Fellows, Rebekahs Lodge , the American Legion, Brotherhood of Maintenance Way and the TRMC Senior Circle. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hay-Muncy Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday, August 31 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Wilson Funeral Home. All final arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral home. www.wilsonfuneralhomeky.com
