Dorothy Evelyn Artrip 77 was called to be with the Lord after a long illness on September 28, 2014 at her home in Monroe, NC. Dorothy was born on April 7, 1937 at Lumberton, NC, the daughter of the late Marion and Katie Dow. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her Step-Father Fred Thompson and brother Bobby Dow. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Martin (John) Artrip, two children, John Artrip (Lisa) of Pleasantville, OH and Dotty Perkins (Jim) of Concord, NC; Four grandsons, Nicholas, Dustin, Luke and Noah Artrip. She is also survived by her sister Christine Webb and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday Oct. 2nd at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Lynch Cemetery at Salt Petre, WV. Friends may call from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday Oct. 1st at the Wilson Funeral Home.
