James D. Sloan 80 of Louisa passed away Thursday October 30, 2014 at his home following a sudden illness.
James was born on April 10, 1934 at Grahn, KY the son of the late Martin V. and Lucy Dickison Sloan. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wives Maggie Burke Sloan who died in 1996 and also Betty Bailey Sloan who died in 2006. James was a retired Chief Master Sargent in the United States Air Force with 27 years of service.
Survivors include a daughter Edna Sue Flowers and husband Russell; and a son Charles Sloan and wife Annie; three grandchildren Wesley Billups, Katherine Billups, and Thomas Sloan, two brothers Warren C. Sloan and John D. Sloan and wife Inge.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be conducted on Wednesday Nov. 5th at 1:00 pm at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East. Friends may call from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Tuesday Nov. 4th at the Wilson Funeral Home.
